Chemical Analysis Management of the Purifiers of the Autonomous Province of Trento

Pisa, June 23, 2005

The second Italian Perl Workshop hosted the presentation of the SIDAL project (Sistema Informativo Dati Analisi Laboratori) applied to the management of water purification analysis data of the Autonomous Province of Trent.

The application allows the integrated management of data resulting from chemical analysis performed on samples taken from wastewater treatment plants.

The program was developed in accordance with Italian regulations as well as the directives issued by the SINAL certification body (http://www.sinal.it), in order to make the use of accredited laboratories possible.

  • Features at a glance:
    • Data structure oriented to typical objects such as samples and parameters.
    • Full parameterisation of samples, measurement parameters, associated to individual laboratories and/or testing sites
    • Codes uniform data, defined by the Autonomous Province of Trento to allow statistical preparation.
    • Stores data on DBMS accessible through ODBC or JDBC interfaces (http://www.postgresql.org)
    • Prints testing reports according to SINAL regulations
    • Signs testing reports and related reports electronically
    • Access to processes on the internet using the browser, without the need to install specific software (supported browsers: MS-Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater; Mozilla 1.6 or greater)
    • Prints and digitally signs documents in PDF format
    • Imports and exports data in XML format
    • Manages access permissions to different data based on user roles
    • Based on the MasonSQL framework
