Codemotion Roma 2014 – April 9-12

Innovation and creativity will be the keywords of Codemotion Roma, the international conference dedicated to technology and open to all programming languages. The event will take place in Rome at the Engineering Department of Roma Tre University from April 9 to 12.

Codemotion will be divided into, but not limit itself, to 16 thematic tracks dedicated to developers: the companies will be on the frontline thanks to the numerous enterprise-oriented talks.

Topics such as Mobile, Web, BigData, Cloud, User Experience are just some of the many subjects that will be addressed during the conference. This will also include discussions on Angular JS and Dart, the new frameworks that have conquered the coding scene, as well as new, both object oriented and functional languages.

Codemotion is organised thusly: two days of workshops and two days of conferences for a total of about 100 talks, 75% of which are in English. "After the experience of Berlin and Madrid and in anticipation of the event in Tel Aviv," explains Chiara Russo, CEO and co-founder of Codemotion, "we felt that the Italian public was ready for a more long-term event: this is why we wanted at least 50% of our speakers to be international. The presence of strategic partners such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Intel, IBM, Paypal, and Telecom have allowed for the creation of an event beyond all expectations”.

In a constantly changing world such as software development, professional development and the possibility of being able to compare the latest technology trends, it is necessary for a company that wants to remain at the forefront, as well as a professional who wants to keep himself up to date. Only 3.1% of the GDP is represented by the digital economy, according to data from Assintel, which also reveals an increase of 160% in the mobile market for year 2013. In Europe, the number of job vacancies in the ICT sector are over 400,000, and it is set to double by 2015. These numbers alone are enough to explain how important it is to participate in a conference such as this.

Codemotion knows the developer's world very well, even for the younger ones, working alongside startups hosted by the LUISS ENLABS incubator; a space is even dedicated to the hi-tech startups. "It is not so simple for a startup to be able to get in touch directly with investors or developers. Our initiative, StartupInAction, which is a contest open to high technology startups, allows these guys to present their project and their technology to a selected and attentive audience," explains Mara Marzocchi, Codemotion co-founder.

Special attention will be given to the little programmers at the event. After the success of the courses dedicated to the children, Codemotion Kids will be present in Rome to accommodate aspiring developers taking their first steps in the programming world.

The Maker and Internet of Things area, in collaboration with Maker Faire Rome, as always, will be a great attraction for everyone who wants to see educational toys and 3D printers live.

There will also be opportunities for artistic contaminations and networking, obviously, starting from the Opening Party, which will be held in the prestigious venue of the Temple of Hadrian in Rome: an excellent occasion to meet all the speakers and international guests who will take turns on the stage of Codemotion Roma.
